Week 4: Jan 24 - Jan 30, 2010

This was Jack's last week at our house. He got his stitches out on Thursday and a clean bill of health from the Vet. His owner is supposed to pick him up tomorrow. I can say that I will miss little Jackpot and his happy go-lucky self. I won't miss the 5am wakeup calls!

Of course now everyone is playing nice! I think Hadley will actually miss Jack. The kitten was almost Hadley's little probie the past two weeks. Jack followed him everywhere and tried to copy a lot of his mannerisms and actions. I'll have to convince his owner that Jack needs a sibling to play with :)

Even C-Lo and Harley started accepting Jack by today.

Week 2: Jan 10 - Jan 16, 2010

This past week was farely uneventful. It was freaking cold outside. Now I know I'm from the midwest and used to subzero temperatures.... blah, blah, blah... Except in the midwest you don't spend a large part of your day walking out in the cold weather getting to your final destination. In the midwest you have maybe a walk from the parking lot to your office. I have a 20 minute walk from the PATH train station at the World Trade Center to my office, which is on the other side of the island by the Brooklyn Bridge.

Anyway, we have been fostering a kitty, Jack, for our landlord since last Saturday. Jack had an infected cut on his tail which required 3/4 of his tail to get amputated.

He's doing a lot better now and gets his stitches out in a couple of weeks. Since our cats have now gotten used to him and even play with him, we're going to keep him at least until his stitches are out to make sure he continues to get his medication.

Our cats are even allowing him to sleep on their window perch while they sleep in close proximity on the bed.

Relaxing Kitties

As you can see, Jack is definitely playing up the sympathy card in our house.

And... a rare display of brotherly love without any head swatting, biting, hissing...

Week 1: Jan 1 - Jan 9, 2010

Happy New Year!!!

After being spoiled over the Christmas holidays with temperatures in the 50s, we were hit during the first week of 2010 with single digit temperatures. Even the kitties wanted to be under blankets!
